This painting was inspired by my love of the work of Alfred Sisley. He painted this bridge on numerous occasions from many different angles and under many different conditions. I found the many arches in the bridge and the old mill to not only be unique but very pleasing aesthetically. The church and town provide the perfect backdrop with the church tower pointing upward to an expansive, sunlit sky. In this painting I concentrated on larger brushstrokes, a very soft palette, and soft edges on the buildings.
