The Schooner J. & E. Riggin is depicted on a reach, gracefully heading back to its port of Rockland, Maine.  The distant lighthouse known as Owls Head Light is perched high on the point and helps guide mariners to safe harbor.  This is a highly glazed painting and much attention was given to the painting in the details of the J. &. E., one of my favorite Maine schooners.
