The Roman Doric columns and light speckled walkway lead the viewer to a 17th century villa on the island of Capri in Italy. The villa lies below the ruins of Villa Jovis, which belonged to the Emperor Tiberius. Surrounded by beautiful gardens, this villa was owned in the early 1900's by the painter of the royal family of Savoy, Carlo Siviero. As a painter I can imagine this setting provided Carlo much inspiration, as did Giverny for Monet.
