Win the Isaac H. Evans Schooner – Not my painting but the actual ship!
On our website, I wrote about painting the Isaac H. Evans portrait style, from the port side. I felt the historic national landmark schooner, launched in 1866, should be rendered in a classic style. I put in every tiny detail I could see and paint. I could write an essay on how I find the ship to be a beautiful reminder of the golden days of sail; how well it’s been maintained; and how lucky one would be to own it; but then I might find myself owning a 100 + year old schooner!!! :-)
That’s right, the owner Captain Brenda Walker has decided to give her ship away by having an essay contest. She needs 8000 people to enter the 200-word essay competition and pay the entry fee of $125 to be able to give the Isaac H. Evans away.
Below are a few detail shots of my painting of the Isaac H. Evans. I was looking at it the other day, in my studio after reading about the contest and enjoyed remembering the beauty of the ship.
My painting of the ship is available for purchase on our website, no essay required! ☺
For those of you who would like to enter the essay contest here is a link to the Facebook page with all of the pertinent information.
Thank you for following my journal and your interest in my artwork. It’s always appreciated!
