Framed oil painting

This painting is about capturing the majesty of the tall schooners. The Schooner Virginia and The Spirit of South Carolina each represent their state, flying their state flag and the American flag proudly.  The painting was inspired by Impressionism, while combining a high level of detail in the ships.  Not always the easiest combination, but an artistic challenge that I enjoyed very much.
