In the Limelight ~ the Yellow Foot Collection Grows!

The morning haze softened the summer greens, as the Snowy Egret soaked in the limelight. Drenched in the warmth of the sun, the white feathered-bird is content to pose on its perch as if on stage for all to see.

In the Limelight was inspired by just such a moment. The Snowy Egret with its bright yellow feet is the star of the show. With its feathers flared and its head turned to the side, it appears to be awaiting the arrival of another actor. The background is like an elaborate set surrounding the egret, transporting the viewer into the scene.

This painting is the second in the Yellow Foot Collection, Spike being the first. In the end, there will be a total of ten Snowy Egret paintings, all roughly the same size and all offered at a special price. Each painting will feature a Snowy Egret showing off his yellow feet.

This collection of paintings is meant to challenge me artistically. In my bio I write that one of the things I enjoy most about painting is letting the paint surprise me. With each painting I set out not really knowing where I am going to go with the painting. In the end, I want each painting to be unique.
